We Love We Leave…. the beauty of meeting and parting…
With its unique dreamy electro-rock music, the band had since its debut in 2011, initially generated a definite buzz from overseas fans and critics. Moreover, with continuous participation in international festivals such as South By Southwest, CMJ Music Marathon and Culture Collide, the band has gained more recognition domestically as well. At the end of 2014, the band received the K-Rookies Finals’ Runner-up award (sponsored by Korea Creative Content Agency).
LXS’s most important objective was to define their special identity within its own rich sound. It’s all about the 90s vibe, strong synth sounds, and refreshing vocals. Consisting simple yet insightful concepts about meeting and parting, the EP contains seven songs in total, two new songs and five deluxe editions of fan favorites.
The first track ‘We Love We Leave’ contains straightforward lyrics and melodies with a dynamic synth pop vibe, which fully exemplifies their values of love and farewell.
“We walk / We sleep / We play / We dream / We die / We breathe / We love / We leave”
Just like walking, sleeping, playing or breathing, meeting and parting are nothing more than just natural phases of our lives, which implies that neither love nor life can last forever. This lyrical honesty runs throughout whole EP, but [We Love We Leave, Part 1] is focused on warm ‘love’, rather than cold ‘goodbyes’.
Fourth track ‘My Anywhere’ – one of the most accessible dance tracks of the bunch – is the perfect example of this principle with plenty of love.
If you are already a LXS fan, you will get to enjoy the improved versions of favorites like ‘Chain Reaction’ and ‘Soul City (Seoul City’) even more, and if you are new to the band, you will be welcomed into a world of mystical intensity. But don’t forget that this EP represents a starting point of 2015. For Love X Stereo, 2015 is a new beginning. Throughout the year, fans will be able to expect many more of its simple yet sophisticated music.

With a sound that reminds us of Coves and Young Romance, two of our favourites, Love X Stereo will soon shed the underdog status. They released a 7-track EP earlier this year, We Love We Leave Pt. 1, which you can hear in its entirety on SoundCloud or purchase on Bandcamp. A couple of tracks from the album are below.
It feel like every time Love X Stereo is ready to explode, something holds them back. Now a duo, Love X Stereo are using 2015 as a rebirth for the band. We Love We Leave, Part 1 makes this apparent. The EP contains two new songs with their older songs getting a new shine. Hopefully, Part 1 serves as the final introduction to the band and Part 2 is the first step forward.
(Love X Stereo is) about to release the Part.2 of “We Love We Leave.” I had a wonderful opportunity to interview Annie, the vocalist of the band. Toby plays guitar and base. Identifying themselves as the “ultimate 90s’ kids” in an interview with K-Sound, Annie says they draw inspiration from a wide range of music as well as happenings around the world.
