Dreaming of Bali…
The single “Imaging You” features beautiful performances by Bali’s gamelan artist “I Made Subandi”.
The three-day Ubud Food Festival held in the beautiful Ubud district where culture and art bloom in the middle of Bali Island, Indonesia. With the connection made at Ulsan APaMM (Asia Pacific Music Meeting) in 2018, Love X Stereo was invited to perform at the festival directly from the organizers of the festival, which attracts music lovers, critics and chefs from all over the world.
Antida Music, well-known label for sending Bali artists to the world stage, made an interesting suggestion to the band. “While you’re in Bali, why don’t you collaborate with a traditional Bali music artist?” While watching some performance videos they sent over, the band was fascinated by the sound of the instrument “gamelan” and decided to collaborate with Bali’s leading gamelan artist, “I Made Subandi.”
The single “Imagining You” secretly means “Imagining Bali” because the song was made by simply “imagining” Bali. The main recording took place at Antida Studio in Denpasar, Bali. “I Made Subandi” was playing gamelan with his son “I Putu Eman Subadi Subandi” at the studio. They also played a percussion instrument called kendang in the song. It is the pre-release track of the full-length album “37C” and the final track of “Project 37”.
Highly recommended to watch the music video instead of just listening to the music. The music video is edited with videos taken by the members of Love X Stereo, and you can get a glimpse of the beautiful culture and scenery of Bali, as well as their love for Bali, an island of charm that purifies the mind.
Imagining You (feat. I Made Subandi)
Love X Stereo have completed the 37 Project with the final song “Imagining You” featuring I Made Subandi. The band’s 37 Project came about with the goal to complete 37 songs in a year. While the band didn’t complete all the songs in that amount of time (and honestly 37 songs is a crazy goal), the growth of the duo has been tremendous.
