On July 26th, the first concert of <2014 K-Rookies> was held at Seoul Olympic Park. This concert is arranged in an effort to help promote the rookie musicians and offer the chances to have their own concerts. Among the 6 teams of <2014 K-Rookies> winners, <Love X Stereo> and <LudiSTELO> started the first series of concerts. Senior K-Rookies, <Hologram film> and <The Solutions>, starred this concert as guests. This month’s concert can be characterized as a danceable concert with electronic rock music. Check out the fever of last weekend’s K-Rookies concert!
◎ Focus on our sound, <Love X Stereo>
<Love X Stereo> is a band that creates their own style by combining alternative pop or punk rock with electric sounds. Basically they have rhythms of rock but they aim to create new danceable music that can appeal to the public. Not only did they allure listeners in Korea but also received love calls from overseas. This band was invited to <MidPoint Music Festival>, <CMJ Music Marathon>, <SXSW> and <Music Matters Live>. Unlike other electronic music bands, the sound of vocal Annie Ko is dominant in their music.

<Love X Stereo> prepared various instruments for stage and started their performance. Since they have explained a bit about their songs and characteristics in video before performance, audiences seemed to be “appreciating” their sounds better. The vocal sound really stood out and the hook part fell on my ears directly. Their repetitive hooks were easy to sing along and drums’ sound from the background hit our heart. It made us easier to get deepen to the beat of the whole song. If this band were to draw a picture of mountain in the sunset, the drum will do the sketch, vocal will color it and 2 guitars will mark the details.
They also performed unreleased new single which will come out in August. Between the songs, they thanked to the K-Rookies program and said it was their honor to perform with <LudiSTELO>. They seemed to be intimate with each other. <Love X Stereo> is actively collaborating with artists in their music video as well. Their song <Bu-kkeu-reo-wo-yo> released in 2013 was a collaboration with pop artist <The Jack> and all the art works were done by <The Jack>. Music video of newly released song <Fly Over> was directed by visual artist Vakki as <Vavava Video Dance Project> expressing ‘Korean psychedelic’ atmosphere.
You can meet <Love X Stereo>’s upcoming performances at <Hyundai card CITYBREAK 2014> on August 9th as well with <Hologram film>.
