COVID-19, the word that has become household and has taken over the world even though nobody asked for it, yet pretty much everybody is being forced to deal with it. A lot of people have come up with a lot of ways of dealing with situation, some useful, some useless and some – plain stupid (but hey! whatever floats your boat!). Along the same lines our beloved K-POP girl group Dreamcatcher, boy group IN2IT and solo star that has been making waves among the new generation of K-POP fans AleXa have joined forces under Millenasia along with UNESCO in an attempt to help overcome the situation(in a collab that we never thought that we needed) and we can safely say that the attempt falls into the category of “extremely useful and inspiring”.
Before we dig deep into it, check out this colourful MV produced by Zanybros, Artmatic and the lyrics written in collaboration with band Love X Stereo!
While spreading awareness on the on going pandemic, hygiene and social distancing which are required to beat the infamous Corona-virus; “Be The Future” aims at doing it’s part to the society by helping the unsung heroes of this battle – the education sector. The aptly titled single conveys the message that “Learning Never Stops” – something a lot of us have easily forgotten.
With the world turning into an unfamiliar place (seemingly over night!), we are all busy getting ourselves accustomed to the present. In this situation, “future” is EASILY forgotten. The lack of clarity on how to deal with the post-pandemic situation is abundant. “Millenasia Project” is one of the few projects that has taken the effort to not just spread awareness of the situation but also work towards handling the “post-pandemic crisis”.
All the revenue generated from this project is being donated to UNESCO’s “Global Education Coalition“. In the recent interview with Forbes, Assistant Director General for Education at UNESCO, Stefania Giannini stated,
“I am delighted that these K-pop artists have united to send an important message about staying safe during this global pandemic. Our Global Education Coalition is determined to do all it can to facilitate inclusive learning opportunities for the 1.5 billion students and youth across the planet that have been affected by school and university closures due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Crucially, we’re determined to put the teacher voice at the heart of our mission to give every child their birthright; a good education.”
